Problem: Your efforts to bolster motivation at work are meeting resistance because your team lacks faith that anything will really change.
Solution: This is not uncommon when people perceive past efforts as ineffective or when there’s residual fallout from downsizing or a history of inconsistent management practices.
Build trust and engagement by getting team members throughout your organization involved in shaping your workplace. Ask for feedback and be very responsive to concerns. Acknowledge past failures and then move on. Then consistently communicate the benefits (individual and group) of moving forward.
Your past does not predict your future, unless you let it!
All the best,
Laura
